Chuck Chuck--left my baby at the DMZ

My girlfriend was lookiong kind of pink
and I'm not even talking about her stink

So I thought I'd just let her be

But then she said "Pyeongyang"
and I thought, Oh, dang.

Left my baby at the DMZ

I left my baby at the DMZ,
    I needed to pee,
    I was so blind, I didn't see,
    The landmine beneath me,

    BOOM! (sound effect)

Now I have only one leg,
the other is just a peg,
and every night I drink a keg,

    all becaaaaaaaaaaaaaause

I left my baby at the DMZ!

Yesterday morning Mike and i were kicking it back in front of the TV when we heard an all too familiar ‘Hello’ from our doorway. It was our director with the new foreign teacher to replace Mike on Thursday. Aaron, the new teacher, didn’t say a great deal, and considering he’d be in transit for the better part of a day then who can blame. I had spoke to him just over a week ago on the phone, and my impression then was positive.
He got settled in and I left for work telling him we’d go out for some grub later after work Which we did.
We went to one of our favourite Korean barbeque places and enjoyed a good meal and conversation. Aaron is from New Zealand, 32, and had been traveling through Asia prior to coming to Korea. He’s been in Korea 2 months previously on holiday, so he’s not entirely green about Korea and Korean culture, thank god.
After dinner we headed to WA bar for a few beers and a good bitching session about he job and Korea. Well, not entirely bitching, but we pointed out things we found annoying, no doubt he’ll come to his own conclusions in time.
First impressions and he seems like an ok bloke. Nothing obviously sticks out that I think I’d have a problem with, but with all new foreigners, its best to be cautious early on. Trust is something that needs to be gained in this country, and he’s starting from step one (as everyone does).
I told him I’d help him out, show him around, generally make life less difficult then it need be early on when living in Korea. I’m glad I had Mike to show me the ropes, so I hope I can give him a hand where needed.
And fingers crossed he doesn’t turn out like Wank Shank…
